Sustainable Support For Communities Living in Poverty in Sri-Lanka

Our Impact

First 100 Days Achievements:

  • Raised £4,700 to fund our charitable initiatives.
  • Delivered 371 vital food parcels to those in need.

Monthly Commitments:

  • Initially, we had 4 monthly commitments to support the elderly; now, we assist 5 elderly individuals regularly.
  • Our support to struggling families began with 1 monthly commitment and has now expanded to helping 6 families.
  • We increased our commitment to provide essential medicine from 2 to 3 families.

Long-Term Projects:

  • We are committed to fostering sustainability and empowering our community. This includes planting 2 paddy fields so far in 2023.
  • In 2022, we supported 9 families with 20kg of groundnut seeds, tractor rental, and land preparation, laying the foundation for their self-sufficiency.
  • In response to feedback, we expanded our second-year project to include corn and groundnuts, offering families more choices for their sustenance (September 2023).
  • We provided goats to over 10 families in Kantale, furthering our commitment to long-term stability.

Monthly Donations:

  • We have successfully set up direct debits, with 5 individuals now supporting our cause on a regular basis.

One-Off Support:

  • Our commitment goes beyond monthly donations. We have offered one-off support such as scooter repair, provision of a prosthetic leg, wheelchair assistance, and funding for electricity installation in a village school.
  • We stepped in to provide nutritional food to a school-aged boy during his recovery from a hospital stay.

Reaching the Unreachable:

  • The 2021 country report by the World Food Programme stated zero beneficiaries over the age of 60 years, despite planning to support 736 people. Our work extends to these underserved individuals, ensuring that they are not left behind.

We are immensely proud of our achievements as a growing charitable organisation, and our commitment to creating a lasting impact on the lives of those in North-Eastern Sri Lanka.

Our small charity continues to grow and make a difference, thanks to the support and dedication of our donors and volunteers. Together, we are transforming communities and spreading hope in the region.
